Crown

A crown is a tooth-like covering placed over an existing tooth that has been specially prepared by the dentist. Crowns help to strengthen and restore function and/or improve the appearance of your natural teeth.

CEREC

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system that offers the advantage of restoring damaged teeth in one office visit. In a single session, you will leave with a permanent crown, onlay, inlay or veneer. This means no temporaries, less drilling, fewer injections, and perhaps most importantly, less time out of your hectic schedule for dental care.

Bridge

A Bridge is a custom-made device anchored to neighboring natural teeth, which replaces one or more missing teeth. When a lost tooth is replaced with bridgework, the teeth on either side of the missing one are prepared as crowns to hold the bridge in place. This treatment restores lost teeth and supports remaining teeth; restores and maintains natural bite; prevents stress on natural teeth; improves your speech, smile and chewing ability; and helps prevent tilting and drifting of neighboring teeth.

Implant

A missing tooth can not only adversely affect your dental health, but your confidence level as well. With dental implants, the inability to eat or speak comfortably and smile proud is a thing of the past. Implant-supported restorations are an excellent alternative to dentures or bridges as they look and feel like natural teeth and can last for several years.

The Dentist will implant a titanium post into the jawbone, allowing it to bond to the bone within two to six months. After it has bonded, a crown is fabricated to fit on top of the implant post and a new tooth is made to match your surrounding teeth. Besides replacing missing teeth, implants can also be used to support dentures, allowing them to function much more like your natural teeth.

Prior to healing an abutment is attached to the implant. The abutment connects the artificial tooth to the implant. An artificial tooth is attached to the abutment.

A fixed bridge implant supported bridge is anchored to dental implants to replace all teeth.

Root Canal

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a dental procedure in which the diseased or damaged pulp (core) of a tooth is removed and the inside areas (the pulp chamber and root canals) are filled and sealed.

When bacteria (germs) enter your tooth through deep cavities, cracks or flawed fillings, your tooth can become abscessed. An abscessed tooth is a tooth with an infection in the pulp. If your tooths pulp becomes infected, it needs to be removed. An abscessed tooth may cause pain and/or swelling. Your dentist may notice the infection from a dental x-ray or from other changes with the tooth. If left untreated, an abscessed tooth can cause serious oral health problems.

Fillings or Restorations

If you have a cavity and it needs a restoration or filling, there are different kinds of fillings to do the job.  Your dentist cares about you and your oral health. If you have any questions or concerns about fillings, talk to your dentist. He or she will advise you on the type of filling that works best in your particular case, and inform you about the aesthetic and cost implications for each type.

There are two types of restorations:

1. Direct Restoration - These restorations or fillings go right into the prepped area of the tooth, after your dentist has removed the decay. Amalgam (or silver) fillings and composite (or white) fillings are examples of direct fillings. They harden quickly. Most direct filling put in place in one appointment.
2. Indirect Restoration - These restorations are custom made in a lab to fit your tooth. Examples of this type of filling are crowns and inlays. Your dentist cements or bonds the restoration in place. Most indirect restorations take two or more appointments to complete.
